Collinstock - Architectural Imagery

When I was seventeen, a high school photography course transformed my life. In a few short weeks, I went from trying to endure the last years of my education to breaking into the school to use the darkroom. Within a few months I had a small arsenal of cameras and a darkroom and a lifetime dream of creating photographs.

I studied photography, worked as a photojournalist and earned a degree in fine arts from the University of Hartford Art School. I had the good fortune to work as Jack McConnell’s first assistant. After four years of assisting, I graduated and accepted a positions at Gerber Scientific. There, I traveled around the country creating images for this rising star on Wall Street, shooting ads, brochures, annual reports and more.

After seven years, I moved on to become the head of photography at Travelers Insurance, and became very proficient at shooting umbrellas, especially red ones. I followed the red umbrella through aluminum mills and furniture factories; through the devastation of hurricanes and tornadoes; through hospitals and nursing homes to shoot brochures, annual reports and multi-image shows.

Another seven years later, I started my own company in the shadows of the Travelers Towers. I love what I do and where these 27 years have taken me. I’m even more excited about what’s ahead because I’ve had lots of practice and still receive great joy from the process of taking photographs. I’d love the opportunity to put this all to work for you.
