I was in the third grade when my mother brought home two magazines, Life and National Geographic. I decided then that I wanted to be a photographer. A landscape photographer to be more precise, going all over the world photographing mountains, oceans, rivers, people, everything and anything. In 1980, I settled for the life of a commercial photographer. I was in a studio for almost twenty years, but luckily fate intervened and I am now enjoying both my passions: landscape photography and golf. My profession is really a “walk in the park” most of the time. The land where golf courses are situated are usually great and the landscaping are always pristine. I wait for the right light, frame it in the camera and shoot. Then, there are times that I encounter swarms of mosquitoes, I must be wary of rattlesnakes or I am so cold on my sunrise shoots that I wish I was still tucked in my warm bed. These problems are just faded memories of minor irritants when I view the results on my computer. At times, a scene takes my breath away and I wish that there were someone with me so I could say “Take a look through the camera. Isn’t it awesome!” But alas, the images you see here will have to do. |
