Light, to my eye, is the essence of life. It dictates the mood of an image. It summons emotion. It lends action. It defines calm. It’s constantly changing.
Growing up in Iowa, natural light and space defined my world. Taking pictures let me capture light in my hands. As a professional, , I was naturally drawn to New York City. After building my business there, I sought to live in a place where the light is a constant inspiration.
That’s how I came to Maine. Up here, I get to have a life. Two lives, actually. Real life is lobstering, sailing, building twig furniture, being with family.
Work life, I’m in studio and on the road, traveling to where my clients need me. Before the click of a shutter, I’ve managed all the production details – scouting, locations, directing set design and construction and hiring the crew
